Mike,

One suggestion that I can make is to post on the MNTriClub yahoo group. You can find the group via the following URL:

http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/mntriclub/

There are a bunch of folks from the Twin Cities area on there and potentially someone would be interested in your entry.

Hello,

Do you know anyone looking for a spot in the Pigman Tri 6/1/08? I have two available and the race organizer won't help me tranfer them. My friend and I signed up, but unfortunatly can't make it. We would sell them at face value ($60). Let me know if you or any of your friends would be interested.

Thanks!

There's a strong possibility that the only runner of the City of Lakes 25K was CC. It didn't sound like Franke was going to run on Friday, and I was out of town all weekend. Others may have run, but I haven't heard anything about their intentions going into the event.

For my part, I had to run a 10 and a 20 this weekend. I ran the 10 on Sat morning, then immediately drove to Iowa City (I was in Riverside, IA for the run) and started tailgaiting. Game time was 7PM, my head finally hit the pillow at around 1AM. We were up again around 8AM, and I was running again by noon on Sunday. I ran the 20 indoors on a tenth mile track, so I feel your pain relative the repeating scenery. I ran inside by choice since I didn't have any way to carry water, and felt that I was starting a little dehydrated anyway.

As an interesting aside, on these longer runs I tend to loose about five pounds of water weight. When I run in Iowa City, I have a "Metler" scale for pre and post run weight comparison. The five pound figure includes drinking water every eleven minutes, but it's very hard to keep up with the water loss without getting "TJM Stomach."

SO? How'd it go? Did you all run the City of Lakes? Your Central American satellite location needs an update! We did our first 18-miler yesterday. I used to think I would gag if I had to run the same loop around the Lakes one more time. Now, after running around the track here, I think I could run around one lake multiple times and savor the variety! 48 days to Marine Corps!!!

World domination? Ha! GALACTIC DOMINATION!!! *evil laughter*

As for shirts, what we really ought to consider is having some new ones made. We'll have to buy six (perhaps just six pieces), but we've got four runners and an extra wicking shirt never is a bad thing. If it's just pieces, then we can print a couple hoodies for when it's cold up here. ;)

When I was making the "Can you dig it?" team shirts, it took two weeks flat to get the order made, approved, printed, shipped, and received. It wasn't all that expensive either.

Awww....shouts right back at you! The funny thing is.....I was JUST thinking about us wearing these shirts at Marine Corps....maybe we can add "Can you did it" to the back? But, we'll need to borrow a shirt for Mark's sister....she wasn't part of the group, but we can make her an honorary member, right? She can be the chair of the Texas chapter. Do I smell world domination by the FRC???

Sadly, my roommate is not involved in this one - he's usually the voice of Hamlet, et al. However, having attended "Kung Fu Hamlet" in several of its incarnations, I can corroborate that they are/it is very entertaining. I'm unlikely to be able to attend, what with going out of town and all, but I'd recommend taking in a show. Remember, though, No Refunds means "no refunds."
